In 1980, at just 18 years old, Terry Fox began what he called the “Marathon of Hope”—a cross-Canada run to raise awareness and funds for cancer research. Diagnosed with bone cancer and having lost his right leg to amputation, Terry didn’t let his physical challenges stop him.
